DJ Controllers
If you are just getting started as a DJ, DJ controllers are very popular, especially because of their affordability. If you have questions, we offer tons of support. Note that Pioneer DJ Controllers always require a Windows or Mac OS laptop with compatible software, such as Rekordbox, Serato, TRAKTOR, or VirtualDJ. If you don't already have software, we suggest you download Rekordbox for free and you can activate a license when you connect the hardware. Serato is the most popular DJ software in Utah, so that is a great option also. (Rekordbox and Serato are both owned by AlphaTheta Corporation, the parent company of Pioneer DJ.)

All-in-One Systems
These systems are great for when you are looking at portability, fast set up times, and remove the complexity of laptop software configuration. More experienced mobile DJs often prefer all-in-one systems because they offer a single board (like a controller) but you don't have to plug a laptop in at all. Image having to set up a second DJ booth at a wedding (such as cocktail hour). Just connect a USB drive with your music and a pair of speakers, and you're all set! An all-in-one system is often the way to go.

Do I Need a Laptop to DJ?
Laptops are optional for all Pioneer DJ options with the exception of DJ Controllers. As long as you have your music loaded on a USB thumb drive in a compatible file and audio format (MP3/AAC/WA/FLAC etc.) and disk format such as FAT32, you are good to go. You can ensure full compatibilty by organizing your playlists in Rekordbok or Serato and exporting your music from your laptop to your USB drive beforehand. You can still connect a laptop via USB cable (provided) or via Ethernet network (cable and switch provided).

What USB Drives are Recommended?
The last thing you want to do is show up to your event and find out your cheap off-brand USB drive is unreadable by the Pioneer DJ hardware such as all-in-one system or media players. What else is included in the rental fee?
Our hardware includes aircraft flight cases and all necessary cables (power, USB, Ethernet) at no extra charge. We also include an Ethernet switch with each mixer rental at no extra charge. There will be a separate insurance/damage fee required, along with a separate cleaning fee. Optional fees includes delivery and/or onsite tech. All rentals require a drivers license and refundable security deposit.
